I have been one of those moms of older children...I always said I would love to go back & do it all over BUT I know I would make brand new mistakes!!! I am learning that God has used my mistakes to mold me into a more humble loving gramma. My four boys (one of whom is now my pastor!!!) are such a blessing to me & God is transforming their hearts in spite of what mistakes I have made. I already know what the cross says about me...I am a sinner!! But He has paid for the sin & broken the bondage to that sin & I do not mourn over past confessed sins anymore. I am thankful for an opportunity to impact my grandchildren through the gospel.

Hi Carrie, I have heard a couple of times what you are doing and I think it is great. I hope every person with children that hear you will read the Bible with their children. I am a grandmother and my granddaughter is 6 yrs old and I haven't seen her since she was 5 months old and I would love to do the reading of the Bible with her. So parents and grandparents make every moment count with your children and grandchildren.

Carrie, I, too, have been encouraged by those very verses! Trying to be a good mom, wife, elementary school teacher, church leader, friend, daughter and more can be quite overwhelming. It was especially hard when the kids were little. I remember writing in my journal one time that I felt like I was in the spin cycle of the washing machine! It is so true that the most calming thing is to remember that He is in control. Everything we think we "have" to do can sometimes wait. Glad you encouraged others with those words from Jesus. They have surely helped me!

Dearest Carrie,
THANK YOU for being sensitive to the direction of the LORD in your life!! It has blessed ours as many others I'm sure.

I am just another Mama out there, another e-mail, another blogger, but I feel like you are my best friend!! I heard your program the other day on Revive Our Hearts and it so mirrored my situation I couldn't wait until the next day and the next and then I was disappointed that I couldn't hear your voice again!

When I saw my Mom a few days later she laid in my hands your book!!!! I was surprised she had it, I thought I was the only one who heard your program. She bought it for our church library (since she does the book buying and processing for it) and wanted me to read it before she set it on the shelf. BUT I want my own copy now! Just so I can reconnect with my new found dear friend on occasion!

I am 36 and we have two toddler boys 1 & 2. It seemed to me that while I was listening and as I am now reading your story, that is my own, only you shared how to conquer my roller coaster of Bible reading that we have only just begun.

My husband is a cop. It frightens me at times what our kids will be facing at they get older with what we know now, but God's Word will not return void and how vital to begin that thirst for them now that they will be saturated with His Word in the world that faces them.

We have a LONG road ahead, but my heart is overjoyed to begin the journey, years behind, but along with you in teaching our little ones to love and know our God, our Savior, and our LORD. Thank you for being just and "Everyday Mama!" your life IS an encouragement.

With all my love,
Becky

PS Would LOVE to chat with you over a cup of tea...seems you are a neighbor to us!

Have you read the "Jesus Storybook Bible"? It's totally awesome and really brings out how the entire Bible points to Jeus.

Thank you so much! This was much needed today. I have twin boys who are almost 10 months old. They are very wonderful, sweet, (usually) good-tempered boys. But today has been trying. They have both been cranky for some reason and both needing lots and lots of hugs and cuddles. Normal days wear me out by about lunch time, but today has got me beat.

Thank you for the reminder that they WILL grow up. And I'll miss these days!

Thank you for this post. I am a firm believer that it is never too early to start reading the Bible to our children. We are called to be obedient and to train up our children in the ways of God; as we do this, God will give the understanding to our children.
